Steeve Cyr salary cap is determined on this years revenues which is not even completed yet, RFA compensation chart is based on this year's average salary which is known already.

Mathieu Leger the salary cap has to be determined by July 1st. That's when free agency opens in the NHL. they can't do that without knowing where the cap will be. it'll be announced in late June.

Steeve Cyr Trading is close here after June 15th... the teams need to know the chart before it closes. But anyway, the compensation chart is based on the annual salary average so there's no point to wait for the new salary cap.
