Only 2 teams among these teams are playing for 500 or better in their past 10 games, the Capitals and the Devils but New Jersey will have to do better than this to finish in the top  8 of the Eastern Conference.

Columbus: has a fairly good schedule until the end of the season, Hurricanes (2), Nashville, Washington, Chicago, NYI, NYR, Buffalo and Toronto, they definitely have their fate in their hands.  6 of their 9 last games are on the road where they are excelling.

NY Rangers: Bruins, Canadiens, Penguins, Hurricanes, Buffalo, Columbus, Tampa Bay, NYI, Detroit – 6 games at home where they are 14-16-5.

Capitals: Devils, Blues (2), Jackets, Flyers, Avalanche, Coyotes, NYI, Penguins.  The Caps got at least one point in their last 8 contests.

Lightning: NYI (2), Panthers, Leafs, Habs (2), Devils (2), NYR.  Fairly good schedule but it seems Tampa Bay forgot how to win hockey games during the last month.

Devils: Pittsburgh, Capitals, Hurricanes, Bruins, Panthers, Tampa (2), Buffalo, Leafs.  They will need to find a way to win regularly at home.

Panthers: Bruins, Tampa, Leafs (2), Habs (2), Canes, Sens, Devils.  Only the Bruins are in the playoffs portrait as we speak, if the Panthers get on a hot streak, everything’s possible.

Senators: NYI, Ducks, Jets, Wild, Flyers, Pens, Panthers, Bruins. Only 8 games left, 4 against really good teams with 4 teams ahead of them, it’s now a long shot for the Sens.

Calgary: Wild (2), Hawks, Coyotes, Ducks, Kings (2), Oilers, Canucks. Considering 4 teams need to pass them and 6 of their 9 games remaining are against teams having difficulties, the Flames should be part of the playoffs.  This being said, they’ll need to win a few games on the road which wasn’t easy for them this year.

San Jose:  Oilers, Stars, Kings, Canucks (2), Preds, Wild, Jets, Coyotes.  Easy schedule and 6 games at home where they are dominating, the Sharks will probably fight with Dallas for the 4^th position of the Western Conference.

Vancouver: Preds, Blues, Hawks, Sharks (2), Ducks, Kings, Oilers (2), Flames.  The Canucks are on a bad streak losing their last 3 games in regulation but they have 10 games left to play.  They will make the playoffs if they can stop that streak now.

Colorado: Flyers, Wild, Preds (2), Blues (2), Caps, Stars, Ducks. Won’t easy for the Avs, other than for the Preds (2) they will have to fight hard in order to win these games.

Minnesota: Flames (2), Avs, Hawks, Senator, Wings, Jets, Sharks. Not a bad schedule but after all those trades, the Wild isn’t the same team, only 8 games left.  Already playing for 500 in their last 10 games, can they do better than that?

Edmonton: Sharks, Kings, Ducks, Flames, Canucks (2):  One of the hottest teams of the league at the moment but they only have 6 games left to play.  They’ll need the Avs and the Wild to go on awful streaks in order to keep their hopes alive.

Arizona: Stars (2), Flyers, Flames, Caps, Blues, Hawks, Preds, Sharks. Technically still alive but not for long.  Finishing their season with 5 of their last 6 games on the road where they are 14-20-2, there’s just too much teams and adversity between the Coyotes and a playoff spot.
