Tradin Wild

2015-03-16

Well the 2015 Trade Deadline has come and gone its time for the last stretch and time for the playoff pushes to really get interesting.

with teams battling for playoff spots around the league the Wild are in an unfimliair situation, they are 2nd Overall in the League, they were 1st Overall and in control for most of the season but are on a BIG 3 game slide and looking to get back into the win colum when they take on the Predators tomorrow night.

with a busy Pre-Deadline and making a total of 6 Trades this year, GM Mckenzie Pulled the trigger on a huge deal and has moved guys that some thought would be in wild uniform come playoff time, lets take a closer look:

In

Vyacheslav Voynov - G: 8, A: 32, P:40, +5 Rating. With his ongoing legal troubles off the ice GM Mckenzie took a big chance aquring Voynov giving up Prospect Milano and a 1st round and  a 4th round pick to aquire him, with that being aside he has played particular well in Minnesota's Defense system

Shane Doan - G:24, A:28, P:52, -4 Rating. Mainly a Rental player, GM Mckenzie needed to thicken his RW's as it was weak on his right side. Doan brings a strong veterns prescence and can play both wings and Center if needed, with a fair price of Pouliot and a 2nd round pick in next years draft, should deffinitly be big help for the Playoffs.

Anton Volchenkov - G:3, P:16, P:19, +8 Rating. Volchenkov was also aquired for a veterns prescence for the playoff run, not a big replacement for franson, but should help more on the defensive side then franson.

Jason Pominville - G:20, A:29, P:49, +13 Rating. Pominville is definitly on the decline of his career, but should still help pack a punch come playoff time, and with a plus rating of 13, we can say thats pretty decent, also still able to log god ice time and be effective while averaging 20.10 per game.

Jakub Voracek - G:11, A:12, P:23, -9 Rating. Believed to be having an off season in Columbus, GM mCkenzie hopes he can find his touch and get back to his scoring form, He was aquired with being the ultimate replacement for Perron, Crazy?? guess we will find out. If able to get back to form he will be a BIG addition for the Wild

Tomas Hertl - G:14, A:8, P:22, -4 Rating. Hertl is still learning the ropes of playing at the best level in the world in being in the NHL, 14 goals for a rookie season is pretty decent these days. he was a shock when aquired from columbus and many wondered why GM Clarke would trade him away, but the wild will have high hopes for Hertl and it will be interesting to see how well he develops and plays for them. Some say giving up Nelson and Bouma might have been a little too much.

Justin Fontaine - G:2, A:1, P:3, -11 Rating. Playing most the season on Tampa's Main roster, Fontaine will be playing the rest of the season in the minors, we got to wonder if GM Mckenzie is keeping a close eye on him in the minors maybe for a audition for the 4th line next season. He can skate fraily well and can win most draws at the faceoff dot. if he plays hard he could have some upside to him.

Andrew Miller - G:16, A:14, P:30, +2 Rating in the AHL. Miller was aquired for depth for the AHL team and still has a long ways to go before he can make the squad. playing ok for the Iowa Wild.

Ryan Hamilton - G:13, A:21, P:34, +15 Rating in the AHL. Hes a big guy who has been moving the puck well for Iowa and play extremly well for what aybody expected.

Prospects: Blake Coleman, Justin Kea and Stephen Silas

OUT

Tomas Kopecky, Benoit Pouliot, Brock Nelson, Cody Franson, David Perron, Lance Bouma, Mason Raymond, Dale Weise and Prospect: Sonny Milano

GM Mckenzie made these trades in mind with Winning it all, and having to make moves to keep up to the Gaining Redwings and the surprisngly Flyers, GM Mckenzie knows the last stretch will be important and to win that Cup will not be an easy task.
