Bruins Correcting Course

The Boston Bruins started the season off in good fashion winning their first 4 of 5 games on the season, but then they started to play sluggishly and it was looking as though they were going to drop back into the same rut they were in last season when they missed the playoffs.  The Bruins decided to make some trades and move Sean Couturier and Riley Smith and brought in future hall of famer Jaromir Jagr and then also acquired Vladimir Sobotka and the Bruins record took off.  The Bruins have also moved out Slava Voynov who was hampering the Bruins with negativity and unneeded bad publicity around the team due to his personal life.  While moving out Voynov, the Bruins brought in veteran Scott Hannon to help the blueline out.

The Bruins have gone 14-4-2 in their last 20 games and picking up 30 of a possible 40 points which is much better than their first 29 games of the season where they went 14-10-5 for 33 points.  The surging Bruins now see themselves sitting in a second place tie in the Atlantic Division with the Mapleleafs and both are 10 points behind the division leading Redwings.  Will the Bruins be able to continue their winning ways throughout the last half of the season, or will they falter again and miss the playoffs two years in a row with a star studded lineup.  Only time will tell.  Let’s go Bruins!
