Oilers acquire Nail Yakupov

GM Lozinski sent a wake up call to his team during the early hours of Friday morning, sending Veteran superstar Rick Nash to the San Jose Sharks in exchange for Nail Yakupov, Michael Matheson and a 1st round pick.

" We needed a change here in Edmonton" explained Lozinski

" We are off to a brutal start and have traded our 1st round pick in this upcoming draft. I WILL NOT SETTLE WITH NOT MAKING THE PLAYOFFS! Rick is an elite player in this league and will be a perfect fit in San Jose to lead that young group of guys. Nail and Matheson will bring some youth and energy to our roster."

Nail Yakupov, the 1st overall pick in the 2012 NHL Draft has 5 goals and 10 assists in 22 games with San Jose this season.

" Nail will slot into the top line and will be a perfect compliment to his countryman Malkin"

Michael Matheson, the 23rd overall pick in the 2012 NHL Draft has 2 goals and 5 assists in 12 games so far with Boston College this season. Matheson projects to be an Elite offensive defenseman at the NHL level.
