The Sabres traded Cameron Schilling and two picks to the Montreal Canadiens for Christian Ehrhoff.

"It's no secret that we were looking to add a quality dman.  I made a lot of calls in the past few days, and earlier today, I was able to work something out with GM Sawyer of the Montreal Canadiens." said GM Blanchard.

"We were already looking to add a dman and Erik got injured Friday night in the game against the Ducks.  He will be out for one game against the Kings and for two games against the Leafs.  The Kings are playing pretty good hockey since the season started and the Leafs are just one point from us with two games in hand.  We did not want to go against those teams with only four of our key defensemen." added GM Blanchard.
