Oilers acquire Justin Schultz

The Edmonton Oilers made another splash in the trade market Monday evening, acquiring 23 year old phenom Justin Schultz from the Nashville Predators in return for Mark Psysk, James WIsnewski, Ryan Sproul and Scott Mayfield.

" We managed to dump a big contract in James Wisnewski in the process to get us under the cap. Justin has not played a single game yet, so its nice to know that he will begin his long career with Edmotnon. Justin will be an Oiler for a very long time."

Justin Schultz was the 43rd overall pick in 2008, chosen by the Anaheim Ducks.

The rookie posted an astonishing 48 points in 34 games in the American Hockey League during the NHL lockout, capturing the title of AHL Defensmean of the year, despite only playing half a season. 

Schultz then went on to tally  27 points in 38 games for the Edmonton Oilers.

" I am pretty confident with our roster moving forward. The only other move i see our team doing is maybe swapping out RJ Umberger for a similar rated player. I made a stupid mistake during contract extensions, thinking we had 3 attempts to sign him, when i only had 2. "
