Canucks go retro!!

The Vancouver Canucks have decided to axe the Whale and go with the retro uniforms of the flying V they once wore in the 80s. These uniforms were the laughing stock of nhl in the 80s... but retro is in now and we've seen it with teams like the Kings, Flyers and Islanders going with their retro jerseys as the 3rd uniform.

Back in 1982  the Canucks made it to the finals against the New York Islanders. The Canucks lost in 4 straight games to the dynasty Islanders, who were stacked with players like Bossy, Trottier, Smith, Nystrom and the list goes on. Wearing these uniforms this season brings back memories of players such as King Richard Brodeur, Stan Smyl, Thomas Gradin, Harold Snepts, Toni Tanti, Patrick Sundstrom and fan favourite Tiger Williams. The fans are excited and thrilled they went this route this year. The Canucks Team store had a massive line up for these retro jerseys on the first day and sold out within hours. They hope they will get more stock Sunday.
