What to do before July 1st!!!!

2013-06-19

PLEASE KEEP THIS EMAIL SO YOU KNOW WHAT'S COMING UP IN THE NEXT 2-3 WEEKS.

Hey guys!

New rates are in!

Here's what you have to do, THIS IS MANDATORY FOR ALL TEAMS, GMs WHO WON'T TAKE CARE OF THIS IN THE FOLLOWING WEEKS WON'T KEEP THEIR TEAMS.

ALL THIS HAS TO BE DONE BY June 30th

1- - Go over the unrestricted players list (Transactions/Unrestricted Free Agents) and MAKE SURE ONE OR MORE OF YOUR PLAYER(S) ARE NOT IN THE LIST, if it’s the case, report it. Several leagues use the same rerates file, so it happens that players’ names can be spelled differently and when it’s the case 2 different players are created (example; Washington has Alex Ovechkin, rerates file might have him as Alexander Ovechkin, then we would have 2 Ovechkins, one with Washington and one in the UFA database, you are responsible to report your players found in the UFA database.

2-
Go over the unrestricted players list (Transactions/Unrestricted Free Agents) and look for your prospects and claim them, IF YOU DON’T YOU MIGHT LOSE HIM/THEM, it’s your responsibility. After claiming them, you can ask the league (or not) to deactivate those who haven’t played 10 NHL games last year and leave them as prospects.

3- - Go over your players, check new rates and report any obvious errors.

4- In your finances, an additional line (bonus) should be added below your Pro Totals.  This line total represents all signature bonuses you offered to players you sign + all the buyouts.  Line is not showing right now, we'll have to look into this in the next days.

5- Review transactions you did between June 1st and June 15th and make sure you have all the players, prospects and draft picks you should have, if something is missing, report it.

6- REVIEW CONTRACT EXTENSIONS, report any problem.

DO NOT WAIT TILL THE LAST MINUTE TO DO THIS!!!!

After a few days, you can get ready for July 1st.

-Go through the FREE AGENTS (UFA) to find the hidden gems so you are ready to make offers on July 1st (goaltenders are at the bottom of the page).

- Go through the RFAs and prepare your offers.  Remember you need draft picks as a compensation for RFAs. Check chart in the rules.

- Complete your buy outs if any.

- no contract offers, no contract extension offers, no trade before July 1st.

=============

On July 1st

you can start making offers to players and coaches (max salary for coach $2 Mil)... and trades resume.

all picks for the next 2 years can be traded (till the draft in August)

when submitting offers to players, the portal will select the best 3.  Then it will pick randomly between those 3 offers (chances are; 60% for the best offer, 30% for the second best and 10% for the last one).

=================================

Pretty sure i forgot stuff, so we will add more updates on the portal in the next days/weeks.
