Bruins Down, But Not Out

2013-05-02

The Toronto Maple Leafs have quickly gone up 2-0 in the best of seven series with the Boston Bruins.  This has been a very low scoring series thus far.  The Leafs edged the Bruins in game 1 by a score of 1-0 and then again in game 2 by a 2-1 score.  Even though Cam Ward has been sensational for the Bruins, Henrick Lundqvist has been even more so.  Both goalies are playing superb hockey, but the offensive production the Bruins were getting against the Islanders has been stifled by King Henrick’s terrific play.

GM Arcesi stated that he knew that Lundqvist would be the road block in front of his team advancing to the next round and feels that even though the Bruins are down 2-0 in the series, that things could still turn around for his club.  Unfortunately for the Bruins, they’ve not only run into one of the best goaltenders in the league…they’ve run into him at a time where he is on a hot streak.  Luckily enough, this GM knows that streaks are meant to be broken, it’s just a matter of when…and hopefully it will be game three as the Bruins do not want to go down 3-0 against a very strong Maple Leafs club led by their net minder.

We’ll see if being on the road can spark any life from the Bruins in this series like it did in their previous series.  So far in the 2013 playoffs, the Bruins are a perfect 3-0 on the road while the Leafs are 1-2 at home.  Regardless of where they play, the Bruins have to find a way to solve Lundqvist.  The next game is pivotal for this series.

Let’s go Bruins!!!
