Jovanovski burst in Flames!!!!

The Tampa Bay Lightning have traded Ed Jovanovski to the Calgary Flames in return of a prospect Alexander Delnov, and future Ottawa young defenceman Patrick Weircioch.

We had seen many trades from the Bolts, but this one included the team's captain Ed Jovanovski.

" I'm in shock to see Jovo out of Tampa!!!  I like the youngsters St-Pierre got in return, especially in Weircioch.  In a year or two, Ottawa will have to regroup with yougnsters when Gonchar and Phillip retired." - Bob McKenzie TSN

Jovanovski' stats doesn't speak for itself..being in 30 games and only showing 8 pts plus with a large contract still attached on his career of 4.7 millions for the next 3 years.

" Jovo asked to be traded a while back, and his wish came thru when we aquired Shane O'Brien.  O'Brien's overall was really close to Jovanovski's and he was also cheaper.  I said it many times during the season, if you don't produce, you don't belong on the team " - St-Pierre told the media.

The Tampa Bay GM, St-Pierre, reminded some players in the last month to perform on the ice.  Looking in Pavelski direction a while back, he was on the line of fire to leave Tampa when GM St-Pierre reminded him to start producing.  Now Pavelski is up and running with almost a point per game. 

" I wish all the best to Jovanovski, a veteran like him was a perfect class act for our younsters, and will sure fit well in Calgary". - St-Pierre told TSN

In the mean time, Joe Pavelski will be name Team Captain of the Tampa Bay Lightning on Monday.
