Malkin returns to Washington to face his old team

Only weeks after NHL supertsar Evgeni Malkin was traded to the Edmonton Oilers, the NHL MVP will be facing his old team.

The oilers, coming off a big win against the league leading Detroit red wings, are hoping to carry the success into washington.

" Were hoping for another big game tonight" stated GM Lozinski. " I think Evgeni will excel against his old team and show the fans in washington what they are going to be missing."

The Oilers will also be seeing a familiar face in Ryan Getzlaf, who has gone on a tear since being traded to washington in the Malkin deal, amassing 18 points in 12 games. Fortunatley for the Oilers, Getzalf will be watching the game from the press box, along with superstar Alex Ovechkin. Both players are injured and unable to play in tonights game.

" We feel that with Getzlaf and Ovechkin out of the lineup, we have a good chance to win tonight. We will have to keep goaltender Price on his toes. Were looking for a good game and hopefully another 2 points."

GM Lozinski also answered reporters questions regarding the possible trade of Dustin Byfglien."

" Dustin is a big part of our second line, and our team. Were gonna see how he plays down the stretch, and if he cant keep up, we will probably pull the trigger on one of the deals that have been presented to us.
