Paradise, Nevada -- The Montreal Canadiens survived the Arizona Coyotes late last night, 3 to 2 the final in Arizona. After two Sidney Crosby goals to start the game in the first 6 minutes, it looked like it was going to be all Coyotes. Momentum began to shift after a last-minute power-play goal in the first period from Chris Kreider, a goal that jump-started the Canadiens. Goaltender Andrei Vasilevskiy took care of business between the pipes for the Canadians in the second and third periods. A last minute goal from Nik Hjalmarsson in the second period tied things at two setting the stage for a great third period. 

 

It took a great portion of the third period until Evgenii Dadonov netted the game winner for the Canadians with about 6.5 minutes left to play. The Canadiens are on the second half of the back-to-back on the road in Vegas tonight taking on the Golden Knights. Could defenseman Matt Dumba be returning to the ice tonight after missing the team's last 5 games due to a concussion? "It's a possibility, but officially his status for tonight's game against Vegas is a 'game time decision'", remarked head coach Barry Trotz. After losing a lot of talent during free agency in the off-season, it has been a rough start to the 2020-2021 season for the Canadiens. With a win tonight, the team looks to string together back-to-back wins for the first time this season.
