It was revealed late Sunday that the Dallas Stars have lost 24yr old rookie defenceman Jake Muzzin for the next 2 months with a sports hernia.

 

GM Kevin Rockett had this to say: 

 

"He was in a considerable amount of pain when he left in the 2nd period. Being the warrior hockey players are, Jake wanted to play through the pain. We knew it was best to shut him down, and not risk any further damage. It's a tough loss for the team. We are lucky enough to have Bryan Allen set to return to action for us this week. Brandon Manning will have an opportunity to stay up with the big club a bit longer and show us what he has got ". 

 

Muzzin has registered 6G and 26A in 45 games this season, good for 2nd on the team in scorinh. He is also in the top 5 on the team in plus/minus with a +10 rating.
